Mr. Hammond was born in New Orleans, Louisiana, and has practiced law here for over 30 years. After graduating from Tulane Law School in 1987, he became a prosecutor for the Orleans Parish District Attorneys’ office where he served as the Head of the Orleans Parish District Attorney’s White Collar Crime Unit and Senior Trial Attorney from 1987 to 1990. Upon entering private practice in 1990, Mr. Hammond began practicing civil litigation which primarily involved insurance claims and coverage issues. Mr. Hammond’s practice includes Personal Injury Litigation, Commercial Property and Business Interruption claims, Homeowners Insurance and Personal Property claims, Casualty and General Liability, Transportation, Automobile, Premises Liability, Professional Liability, Directors and Officers Liability, Employers Liability, Commercial Litigation, Maritime Litigation, Jones Act, General Maritime Law, and Offshore accidents. He has extensive experience litigating spinal injuries, brain injuries, and catastrophic injury cases.
